Sunday 21st August HUFC 'v' Parklands Pheonix KO 10.30am
The pitch at the Grange was in top condition ready for some Men's football on this Sunday morning.
The first team faced Parklands Pheonix who finished mid table in the Championship last season which is the division the first team will start their football season in the Nene Sunday League.
The lads started very sharp and bright and just 2 minutes in HUFC open up their goal scoring account when Read put the ball in the back of the Parklands net.
It was good to get a early goal as this gave the lads early confidence in the game.
Parklands struggled to get possession as HUFC looked very relaxed and calm on the ball as they passed the ball around the pitch.
It wasn't long before Halse increased their lead with a absolute screamer from Loft who was playing on the left midfield.
Then Parklands came back at Halse making it 2-1.
Menday & Simpson in Midfield worked well together and the defence was also strong and Murphy & Purnell in centre half shut down many attacks. Also Spindlove and Mannie done a great job as full backs.
Ingram then gave the lads a 2 goal lead back over Parklands with another screamer on his right foot.
Then Fotheringham who replaced Loft on the left wing went on a solo run running around the players to finally slot the ball into the back of the Parklands net.
