What a great day for our Club.....
BRACKLEY TOWN U18 'v' HALSE UNITED U18 - COUNTY CUP QUARTER FINAL
A cold day at Hethe but that didn't put off the Halse travelling fans who lined all along the pitch and all the way in front of club house what an amazing support.
The lads were well up for this one as well as everyone else in the club.
The 18's played a very positive 4-3-3 formation to ensure on attack the lads put BTFC under pressure as soon as the whistle was blown. That came true with Tom O'Neil putting HUFC ahead in just first 5 minutes.
The lads continued to apply pressure onto BTFC and again it wasn't long before HUFC doubled their lead from the HUFC striker Piers Walton who scored an absolute screamer.
BTFC were taken back by being 0-2 down inside of 14 minutes and HUFC lads were enjoying the game even more.
Then BTFC were awarded a penalty from apparently handball in the HUFC box which BTFC placed into the back of the net.
In the second half BTFC were awarded a free kick just to the right of the HUFC 18 yard box which got hit along the grass under the wall and straight into the back of HUFC net. Now back level at 2-2 BTFC wanted more.
HUFC were not going to give up and midfielder Josh Brown came across the front of the BTFC box and took on 3 BTFC players getting around them and took a shot on his right placing the ball straight into the top right corner of the BTFC net with the keeper not even able to get to the ball on 75 minutes.
Then on a corner the referee awarded another penalty which again they made count and for the third time BTFC pulled back to be level.
The last 15 minutes were tense end to end but the final whistle blew FT 3-3.
Onto penalties and first 5 players took pens and score was 4-4, then next five players were named for pens however BTFC pen was saved by Louis Taylor the HUFC keeper who managed to push over the bar making HUFC win 5-6 on penalties.
The lads are now onto the final 4 teams in the County with the draw taking place on Monday at the FA County offices with the semi final on Sunday 3rd March.
