Halse United First Team 'v' Raunds Town Reserves

Despite all the rain and flooding during the week it was game on thanks to the drainage that had been done out of season by Syresham Sports & Social Club.
Halse although have been in this cup for a number of years the black and white has never faced Raunds Town Reserves.
Minimal changes to the starting 11 for Halse following a positive performance week before in Oxfordshire Senior League at home against Kennington.

Halse just 20 seconds in attack straight from the kick off. Durnin gets in down the left, with the angle narrowing, gets his shot away which is well saved.
The second attack of the game and the ball ends up in the Raunds Town net when Read is played and finishes beautifully on 1 minute.
Halse 1-0 Raunds
Just 2 minutes later Halse break again with a diag from Summers to Gilsenan who brings the ball down, lays off Durnin who takes one touch inside and fires it back across goal into the bottom left of Raunds net.
Halse 2-0 Raunds
14 minutes into first half Halse win a penalty when Read is released inside the Raunds Town half. Read dances through the defence in the box and is clipped to win the penalty. Read coverts his penalty down the middle.
Halse 3-0 Raunds
24 minutes now gone of this first half and Summers drives at the Raunds Town defence, cuts it back to Gilsenan on the edge of the box. Gilsenan takes one touch, out his feet and smashes it home.
Halse 4-0 Raunds
On 37 minutes Raunds Town get a goal against the run of play. A long free kick from the half way line up to the edge of the Halse box. Raunds Town number 17 chests it down and beautifully converts a bicycle kick past Matthews.

Final seconds of first half and Halse break again! Read is slotted down the left, and stands his cross up to the back post. Mortimer crests the ball into the net to make it 5 before half time.

On 50 minutes Simpson has plenty of time on the ball in the centre circle. Simpson pings a ball across pitch to Read, who brings it down to slot home his hat-trick!
Halse 6-1 Raunds
First and only substitution for the black and white see's full back Salvatore off for young forward Williams on 52 minutes.
It's another goal for Halse on 60 minutes when Simpson gets the ball up top to the edge of the Raunds Town box. The Raunds defender tries to play out from the back, with the ball knicked by Read who fires the ball into the bottom left of Raunds net.
Halse 7-1 Raunds
Forward Williams has only been on the pitch 13 minutes when he picks up on a loose ball on the half way line. Kinner makes the darting run in behind who is slotted in by Williams. Kinner fires in at the near post.
Halse 8-1 Raunds
The goals just keep coming when a mix up happens in the Raunds defence again. Williams picks up the ball in the box, smashes it towards goal and with a deflection the ball skids past the keeper.
Halse 9-1 Raunds
6 minutes later Kinner slots in Read and again is a one on one with the Raunds keeper and fires it in at near post and into the back of net.
Halse 10-1 Raunds
Final goal of the day to make it 11 for the black and white, from a Halse corner, the ball bounces around in the Raunds box. Williams takes a snap shot which defects past the helpless keeper.
