OSL Prem Halse United 'v' Chalgrove Cavaliers

After a pitch inspection at 10am on Saturday this fixture had to be moved to our pitch at the farm.

Kick off at 14.01.

A early chance for Halse when they get free kick on 9 minutes to the left of the Chalgrove box which Gilsenan steps up to take and he whips the ball into the box and centre back Beasley flicks on which sails past the Chalgrove goal keeper.
Then on 16 minutes Halse counter from inside their own half with a long ball from Gilsenan which sets Read away. Read gets into the Chalgrove box , takes on the keeper, but the young keeper gets a foot on the ball to divert it out the path of Read.
It's a tight game so far with both teams battling the conditions of the pitch. Halse are edging the ball so far but the chance are few and far between.
A break in play on 39 minutes with Mortimer down injured in the box after being clattered in the net.
Then just before half time Chalgrove get a penalty after a shoulder in the back of the Chalgrove striker by Halse right back Salvatore. The penalty is slotted into the right hand corner for Chalgrove to equalise just as the half time whistle was about to go.
Halse attack straight from the kick off, Gilsenan whips the ball across the box, missed by the keeper and picked up by Summers on the left. He then beats his man and fires it back across the Chalgrove goal into the far post.

Second half kicks off 14:56. Chalgrove change formation going a more traditional 4-4-2.

On 55 minutes Chalgrove make a double substitution with 16 and 11 off and 10 and 9 on.

On 62 minutes Halse make first substitution with Salvatore off and J Purnell on.

On 64 minutes another substitution for Chalgrove with 18 off and 14 on.

Then just 2 minutes later Halse get a chance when Todd gets loose down the left and through on goal, only to have his shot smothered by the keeper and knocked out for corner.
On 70 minutes Gilsenan wins a free kick on the edge of the Chalgrove box. Gilsenan steps up again for the free kick and delightfully drinks it over the wall and into the right of the goal, clipping the post on the way in.
Halse are now on fire when Read escapes on the left hand side, drives into the box, cuts it back to Simpson who lays it off to Summers who fires it first time into the near post with a small deflection flicking it around the keeper. Halse 4-1 Chalgrove.

Final substitution for Halse with Todd off and Bewick on at 77 minutes.

It's another penalty and again its Chalgrove on 79 minutes, the Chalgrove number 7 hits his penalty hard down the middle which is initially well saved by Riley but unfortanetley the ball bounces back and just over the line.
First booking of game happens on 81 minutes for Chalgrove number 3 after a late tackle on Summers.
Then another booking just 1 minute later when Beasley makes a tackle to stop Chalgrove counter attack.
