The black and white started brightly and took the lead on 13 minutes. After sustained early pressure, Warren whipped in a superb corner from the left, Hamblin glanced it on, and the ball flew into the far post to make it 1–0.

Just six minutes later, Halse nearly doubled their advantage. Gilsenan sent a long ball over the top for Capstick, who capitalised on defensive hesitation, rounded the keeper, and got his shot away — only for a covering defender to clear off the line.

The second goal arrived on 32 minutes. A high, scrappy ball wasn’t dealt with by the Witney defence, allowing Capstick to pounce. He spun sharply and slotted into the bottom‑right corner to put Halse 2–0 ahead.

Before the break, another dangerous corner caused chaos. Brock struck the bar, the rebound fell to Mitchell, and his header appeared to be blocked by an arm — but no penalty was given.

HALF TIME: Halse 2–0

Straight after the restart, Halse almost added a third. A short Witney back‑pass allowed Capstick to nip in and poke the ball around the keeper, but it rolled just wide.

On 55 minutes, Witney’s No.11 received a yellow card for attempting to block the goalkeeper’s kick.

Halse made their first change on 58 minutes, with Cartwright replacing Mitchell, De'ath nearly made and instant impact on 62 minutes heading over the keeper but hitting the outside of the post. followed by Summers replacing De'ath on 65 minutes.

Further changes followed: Witney 4 for 10 (68’), Golder for Warren (73’), Witney 2 for 15 (79’), and Paine for Brady (85’).

Witney pulled one back late on 87 minutes, but Halse stayed composed to secure the win.
