Halse United U16s return to pre-season action this Saturday as they prepare for a competitive clash with Willen Rockets, a fixture that carries both history and fresh motivation for the black and white.

The squad has been gradually returning to full strength this week, with several players back from holidays and reintegrating into training. Their return has lifted the tempo and sharpened the group’s preparation. However, Halse may be without two players who are carrying injuries, and their availability will be assessed closer to kick‑off. Even so, the coaching team remain confident in the depth and resilience of the squad.

The last meeting between these two sides came in the League Cup, a match that promised plenty but ended in frustration. With Halse responding to Willen leading, and playing well, the game was abandoned due to severe flooding, ultimately resulting in the black and white exiting the competition. It was a tough way to bow out, and the players have not forgotten how strongly they responded that day.

This weekend offers a chance to put things right. Training has been positive, with the lads focused on starting fast, staying organised, and imposing their style of football. The group has shown real togetherness since returning from the summer break, and there’s a clear determination to turn preparation into performance.

Willen Rockets will arrive ready for a battle, but Halse’s focus is firmly on themselves — on playing with intensity, supporting each other, and showing the progress made over recent weeks.

As Saturday approaches, excitement is building. The team are ready to step out at home, compete with pride, and make a statement.

Come down, get behind the lads, and support your black and white as Halse United U16s look to start their league campaign with purpose.
